2012 - 2013 Community Ambassador Application
In an effort to assist students with their transition to off-campus living in the Syracuse University neighborhood, OCCS is proud to host the Community Ambassador Program. This program matches successful off-campus students with selected blocks in the University neighborhood. Selected students serve as ambassadors and role models to the residents of the streets they are living on. Community Ambassadors (CA) will provide a point of contact for student-residents on their assigned block, provide access to resources, and build community in order to ease the transition to off-campus living. CAs will be going door to door and e-mailing invitations to community events and timely information throughout the year.Program Description
Community Ambassadors

Arielle Berger “Community is a sense of camaraderie - I've always enjoyed sharing experiences with other people.”
arberger@syr.edu

Charlotte Evanofski “Community, to me, can be a small and comfortably sized group of people to a large massive group even nation that I call myself a part of. That group and I have something in common: whether our community is our classroom or our country, we're glad to share our troubles, share our pride or relate our experiences as a member of a common people. When we start to realize that we're all part of a whole, it's easier to smile at our neighbors, we're all in it together.”

Francesca Budesheim “Community means being able to recognize someone any time you walk out of your house!”
fmbudesh@syr.edu

Lauren Califano “To me, community is more than a place, it's a state of mind. Community is getting to know your neighbors, participating in local events, and always having a smiling face and a helpful attitude.”
ltcalifa@syr.edu
